General Membership FAQ

  • Are there any criteria members need to meet to be eligible for membership?

    We require all members to have certain character traits such as kindness, respectful and tolerant of others, open-minded, growth-oriented, self-aware, and of course, passionate! We like to think of PassionQuest as an "inclusive" dating experience, in that we don't recruit based on income, social/professional status, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

  • Do you accept LGBTQ members?

    We do! However, since we are a brand new business, we will soon have a Round 2 of pre-launch specifically for LGBTQ members, to ensure we have a wide enough pool of compatible match options. In the meantime you can sign up as a Gold Member to get started on your Quest and upgrade when the pool is ready, or sign up for the mailing list and get notified when it's ready.

  • What exactly is "The Quest"?

    The Quest is your self-guided skill builder and activity guide, both digital and in-person. It includes online game-like personal development courses, and some in-person social challenges you can take to get real-life experiential practice with your new skills! As you progress through The Quest, you will earn points that you can use toward discounts on matches and more. You can access it by signing into this site once you purchase your membership, and clicking on "My Dashboard."

  • What kind of material is included in The Quest?

    The Quest is a personal growth journey that teaches aspects of self-awareness and emotional intelligence, such as confidence, communication, and evaluating commitment-worthiness. Some is like a game, some is like a story, and some is like a class. Some is online, some is in-person.

  • Is Quest participation mandatory?

    It is not mandatory, but you will get the most out of your membership (and the biggest discounts!) if you do. You can try a little here and there at your own pace, or do all of it. Your Quest points are also considered when we make matches. We try to match people at similar levels of Quest participation.

  • When will I get my first match?

    We plan to begin matching in Fall of 2021! You will be updated by email if you are a member. You can also sign up for our mailing list or follow us on Facebook or Instagram to get updates, and learn about fun events and promos going on in and around Chicago.

  • Is my profile going to be on an app or website for everyone to see?

    No. All profiles are totally private and confidential, viewable only to PassionQuest staff. Members do not view or select their own matches, our Matchmakers do. Only certain questions will be listed in match introduction emails when a match is chosen for you.

Matching FAQ

  • Can I decline matches?

    Once we find a match for you, we will send you an email asking if you are ready and available to meet someone new right now. You are allowed to decline at this point as many times as you need. Once you approve and we send you the basic info about your match, you will be able to decline 2 matches within a 6-month period. We select matches carefully and want to encourage keeping an open mind, so be selective about who you decline.

  • What info will I get about my matches before I meet them?

    We will send you one photo and basic information such as general location, age, physical characteristics and interests. When you fill out your match profile, there will be a double star (**) in front of all questions that will be shared with matches.

  • How many matches do I get?

    Ruby Members can choose their match frequency, between 1-3 matches per month. You can decide this based on your time availability, budget, and dating goals. Gold Members do not get priority matches, which means they may or may not be selected to match with someone. Gold Members can request up to 2 matches within a 3-month period by pre-purchasing them.

  • How do you select matches?

    Since we video interview every member of PassionQuest Central, our matchmakers generally have a talent for knowing which 2 people will jive together nicely. We also have a database that allows us to compare specific profile points to ensure all the important details are met before matching members together.

  • Do we get matched with PassionQuest members only?

    Yes. You will never be matched with a non-PassionQuest member, whether you are a Ruby or Gold member. This way, everyone you match with is on the same Quest as you!

Account FAQ

  • What is the regular price of membership after pre-launch ends?

    Ruby membership is $75 a month. Gold membership is $15 a month.

  • How can I renew when my membership ends?

    When your 3-month pre-launch membership is about to end, we will send you an email inviting you to renew. You will have the option to renew for another 3 months, or month-to month.

  • What is your refund policy?

    We do not offer refunds of membership fees or match fees. However, if your match breaks our Code of Conduct on your date, talk to your Matchmaker about getting a free match. We will also reiterate this agreement with your match to evaluate if they still meet member requirements. If you are dissatisfied with any other aspects of your membership, talk to your Matchmaker or email us at [email protected] so we can serve you better.

  • Do I need to sign a contract?

    You will never be asked to sign a formal contract, but you will need to agree to the PassionQuest Code of Conduct as a member. Initial membership packages are 3 months. After that you can go month-to-month, or continue to purchase in 3 month packages.

  • How much does Ruby Membership cost after Pre-Launch?

    The usual price for Ruby Membership is $75 per month.

  • How many matches do I get as a Ruby Member?

    You can select the approximate frequency of matches, from 1-3 matches per month. You can choose based on your availability, budget, and dating goals.

  • What can I expect for my Onboarding Interview?

    Your Onboarding Interview is an hour-long "getting to know each other" zoom session with your Matchmaker. We will talk further about your preferences, concerns, and how to get the best out of the program. Be sure your full Match Profile is complete before the interview!

Gold Membership FAQ

  • How much does Gold Membership cost after Pre-Launch?

    The usual price for Gold Membership is $15 per month.

  • Do I get matches as a Gold Member?

    Gold Members don't get priority matching, which means we aren't continuously searching for matches for you. However, you might be contacted about a match if you are especially compatible with one of our Ruby Members. You may also request a match by pre-purchasing one. There is a max of 2 matches per 3-month membership period for Gold Members.

  • Do Gold Members get a video interview?

    You will be contacted for a video screening if you are selected for a match, or if you pre-purchase a match for yourself. However, you won't get an initial Onboarding Interview or a personal Matchmaker.
